Where I stand

Let’s raise
the floor.

Don’t limit how high people can rise. Give them a foundation to build on. I’m a veteran, a mother of three and a business owner. Here’s the work I want to take on for Michigan.

01 / The work ahead

A good life.
Within reach.

Healthcare. A family home. Room to learn and build. These are five initiatives I’m developing, with research, public input and careful evaluation guiding the next steps.

01MIcare

Healthcare is part of the floor.

Support MIcare. Study the path to implementation.

Care should stay within reach when you change jobs, start a business or face a family setback. I support MIcare and similar proposals for universal healthcare in Michigan. Getting there means carefully evaluating costs, funding and the transition.

How I’d approach healthcare

Use MIcare as a framework to study access to comprehensive healthcare for every Michigan resident.

Evaluate what Michigan already spends, including public funding, premiums, deductibles, copays and employer contributions. Study which costs could be replaced, what additional revenue would be needed and what federal waivers implementation would require.

Examine provider reimbursement, prescription-drug costs, possible administrative savings and the effects on households, employers and healthcare workers. A transition plan matters as much as the goal.

02Michigan Family Homestead Initiative

Keep family homes in families.

Concepts under development

A family home can give the next generation somewhere to land. I want to explore property-tax relief for qualifying seniors and protections for family transfers, while keeping schools, fire departments and local governments financially whole.

What I’m exploring for family homes

Study reducing, freezing or potentially eliminating property taxes for qualifying senior homeowners in retirement, and preserving protected taxable values in qualifying family transfers. These are ideas to evaluate, not finalized tax rules.

Tie any protection to continued family and owner occupancy, so it supports family homes rather than becoming a tax shelter for investment properties.

Explore a one-time Family Home Transition Contribution when the next generation keeps the home and its tax protection. Its purpose would be to help offset the program’s fiscal effects. Any plan needs a clear way to protect local public-service funding.

03Michigan Montessori Education Initiative

Make room for curiosity.

Study and pilot before expanding

School should help children build independence, creativity and confidence in their ability to learn. I want to study how Montessori principles and teacher training could reach more Michigan public classrooms, while supporting educators and different learning needs.

What I’d study in public schools

Listen to parents and support educators. Explore teacher training, state-supported professional development and demonstration classrooms, including Montessori-informed practices that could work in traditional classrooms.

Evaluate student outcomes, special-education needs, teacher satisfaction and retention, costs and alignment with Michigan academic requirements. This is not a proposal to immediately require Montessori certification for every teacher.

04Veteran Benefits Accountability & Oversight

Make good on the promise.

Examine barriers. Improve coordination.

Veterans shouldn’t have to fight through confusing rules and delays to get support they were promised. I want to examine Michigan’s programs and improve coordination, with policy shaped by veterans’ experiences across the state.

Where Michigan can make a difference

Examine unnecessary delays, fragmented services, confusing eligibility rules and gaps between federal, state and local programs.

Many core benefits are federal. My focus in Michigan is better navigation and coordination, oversight of state programs and federal advocacy where needed. Listen to veterans throughout Michigan and use their experiences and data to guide the work.

05Michigan Infrastructure & Materials Innovation Initiative

Test it here. Build what lasts.

Pilot. Measure. Publish the results.

I want Michigan to test materials that can stand up to our climate and make economic sense over their full lifespan. Bring engineers, universities, manufacturers, farmers and local governments together. Prove what works before scaling it.

What I’d put to the test

Work with MDOT and Michigan partners on real-world pilots. Measure deterioration, maintenance and lifetime costs, publish the results, expand successful approaches and drop failures.

Explore industrial hemp fiber for construction, composites and manufacturing, with infrastructure uses considered only where engineering evidence supports them. Michigan-grown materials must prove their performance and economics before wider use.

And a stronger foundation for everyday life.

Local jobs, unions and trades

I’ll stand up for working people, unions and skilled trades. That means supporting small businesses and family farms, and keeping jobs local.

Family support

Mental healthcare and addiction treatment need to be within reach. I want to expand access so more people and families can get support.

02 / Your rights

Your freedoms.
Your choices.

When I put on the uniform, I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution. That promise still guides me.

Civil liberties

I’ll stand up for freedom of speech, constitutional rights and equal treatment under the law. Your voice matters.

Bodily autonomy

Your medical decisions belong with you, your family and your doctor, without unnecessary government interference.

Faith and conscience

Your beliefs are yours. I’ll respect each person’s faith and conscience without government interference.

A fair chance

I want to remove obstacles that keep people from opportunity and independence. Everyone deserves a fair shot at building their own life.

Right to repair

If you own it,
you should be able to fix it.

I support farmers, mechanics and small businesses having access to the parts and information they need to fix what they own.

03 / Honest government

You deserve
a government
that listens.

No corporate PAC money

“I’m not taking corporate PAC money.”

This campaign answers to the people of the district.

Accountability

You should be able to understand how public decisions are made and where public money goes. I want both to be easier to scrutinize.

Essential services

I’ll back the workers and infrastructure our communities depend on in everyday life.

Local decisions

People who live here deserve a meaningful say in what happens here. I’ll work to keep local voices in the decisions that shape our future.
